The best dua of Arafah

Lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr.

"There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. His is the kingdom, His is the praise, and He is over all things capable."

Source: Tirmidhi 3585 — graded ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ. The Prophet ﷺ said it is the best supplication, the one he and the prophets before him said most on the Day of Arafah.

Multazam supplication

Allāhumma innī as'aluka min khayri mā taʿlam, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā taʿlam, wa astaghfiruka li-mā taʿlam, innaka anta ʿallāmu-l-ghuyūb.

"O Allah, I ask You of every good that You know, and I seek refuge in You from every evil that You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what You know — for You are the Knower of all that is hidden."

Source: Aḥmad · al-Bayhaqī — multiple chains, the practice is widely attested through Ibn ʿAbbās. Make it between the Black Stone and the door of the Kaʿbah, your cheek against the cloth.
Note: the precise wording varies across narrations. This is the most commonly attested form. Any sincere supplication is permitted here — the location is what is special, not a fixed text.
10 Dhul-Hijjah · Fajr at Muzdalifah (Mashʿar al-Ḥarām)

Standing at the Sacred Site

Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar — lā ilāha illa-llāh, wa-llāhu akbar wa li-llāhi-l-ḥamd.

"Allah is greatest. Allah is greatest. Allah is greatest. There is no god but Allah, and Allah is greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise."

Source: Muslim 1218 (Jabir's long Hajj hadith) — the Prophet ﷺ stood at Mashʿar al-Ḥarām facing the Qibla after Fajr, supplicated, made takbīr and tahlīl, and remained until it was very light. He then left before sunrise.

The verse most often recited

Rabbanā ātinā fi-d-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi-l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba-n-nār.

"Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

Source: Qur'an 2:201. Practice: Abū Dāwūd 1892 (Ibn al-Sā'ib) — the Prophet ﷺ recited this between the two corners. Anas (Bukhari, Muslim) noted it was the supplication the Prophet ﷺ made most.

Istikhārah

Allāhumma innī astakhīruka bi-ʿilmika, wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, wa as'aluka min faḍlika-l-ʿaẓīm…

"O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and Your power through Your decree, and I ask You of Your great bounty…" [full text in entry]

Source: Bukhari 1162 — Jabir reports the Prophet ﷺ taught this for every important matter, like he taught a chapter of Qur'an. Pray two rakʿah of non-obligatory prayer first.

Entering the Prophet's city ﷺ

Allāhumma hādhā ḥaramu rasūlik, fa-jʿalhu lī wiqāyatan mina-n-nār, wa amānan mina-l-ʿadhāb, wa sū'i-l-ḥisāb.

"O Allah, this is the sanctuary of Your Messenger ﷺ. Make it a shield for me from the Fire, a safety from punishment, and from an evil reckoning."

Source: practice transmitted via Ibn ʿUmar; recorded in classical manāsik literature. Chains have weakness — but the dua is permissible as a general supplication. The visit itself is what is recommended; the wording is not fixed.

Talbiyah (added to the library)

Labbayka-llāhumma labbayk, labbayka lā sharīka laka labbayk, inna-l-ḥamda wa-n-niʿmata laka wa-l-mulk, lā sharīka lak.

"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am — You have no partner — here I am. Truly all praise, and all favor, and all dominion is Yours — You have no partner."

Source: Bukhari 1549 · Muslim 1184 (Jabir). Begin at niyyah of ihram; stop at the first pebble at Jamrah al-Aqabah on 10 Dhul-Ḥijjah. Men raise the voice; women keep it audible to themselves.
Citations philosophy

Every dua names its source (collection + hadith number). Where multiple narrations differ, we show the wording with the strongest chain. Where scholars have graded a narration differently, we note both opinions — never silently pick one. The dua library at /app/duas.html would gain a search-by-source filter so pilgrims can find e.g. "all Bukhari supplications" or "all Hisn al-Muslim".
